Decorated with a refined, lake cabin theme combined with shabby chic style, this warm and inviting lake house has many cozy and unexpected nooks and crannies so that everyone can find their favorite spot for some alone time to relax or read a book, then come together with the whole family in one of the spacious living areas. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal, and all 6 bedrooms have high-end mattresses and luxury linens, as one would expect in a home of this caliber. Awake to breath-taking views in the top floor, private master suite, fondly nicknamed “the nest” by the owners.
Conveniently located within minutes of Chimney Rock State Park, the Tryon International Equestrian Center, unlimited hiking trails, zip lining, fly fishing and downtown Chimney Rock Village, with its award winning restaurants and shopping, Lured In allows you to fill your days with outdoor activities, or claim your spot on the stone terrace, or on the bed swing on the screen porch, and do absolutely nothing.
On cooler fall days or during the winter holidays, cozying up in front of the large wood burning fireplace on the main level and looking out over the lake is about as good as it gets. On warmer days, sitting down on the private beach, on the deck atop the boathouse or out on the dock just listening to the water lap up against the shore is equally magical. (The private beach is especially a hit for parents with small children who aren't quite ready to swim.)
Shopping and dining in Chimney Rock Village are only 3 miles away, and lakeside dining options are within 2 miles in either direction. For those up for venturing out on a day trip, the options abound. Asheville and the Biltmore Estate is 45 minutes away, Hendersonville and the Flat Rock Playhouse are 30 minutes away and Greenville and Spartanburg are both just an hour away. For those who enjoy antiquing in more quaint towns, Tryon, Saluda and Landrum are all within 30 minutes and have charming downtowns. This lakefront home is only 17 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center where you can enjoy watching or participating in equestrian competitions.
Layout
Main level: Open plan living/dining/kitchen area. Two bedrooms, one with king bed and one with bunk beds. Bathroom with large walk-in shower with 2 shower heads. French doors out of living/dining area lead to screen porch with lake and mountain views. Outside steps lead to lower porch and lake and beach access.
Upstairs: Master suite has king bed and en suite bath with walk-in shower. Sitting area with small balcony overlooking lake separates master suite from two other bedrooms. One of those bedrooms is very large and has 2 queen beds and en suite bath with shower and one is smaller with 2 twin beds. There is another full bathroom on that floor with 2 sinks and a tub/shower combination. The laundry room is also located on this floor and there is a small alcove with a baby bed that can be closed off.
Downstairs: Family room and one bedroom with double bed and en suite bathroom with shower plus a Precor EFX elliptical machine. Covered porch and stairs leading to the sun deck on the water, kayaks and lake access. Also a stone patio with outside seating overlooking lake.
Lakeside: Sun deck on top of boathouse. Floating dock and kayak storage. Covered deck area to get in out of the sun.
Lured In On Holmes Lake House Details
2,800 ± sq ft, 3-story vintage lakefront home built in 1931 when it was originally used as a hunting and fishing cabin; fully renovated in 2016 with meticulous attention to detail.
6 bedrooms – 2 bedrooms with a king bed each, 1 large bedroom with 2 queens, 1 bedroom with a double bed, 1 with 2 twins, and 1 with a set of bunk beds. Also, 1 baby bed, 1 queen sofa bed and 1 cot. Top-of-the-line mattresses.
5 full bathrooms – 4 with showers and 1 with tub/shower combination. Hair dryers.
Maximum occupancy: 12 (including children).
From $980/per night or $6,860/ week.
Plus $100.00 non-refundable reservation fee and $250.00 cleaning fee.
Rate includes two 9’ kayaks, one 3-person kayak, life vests, and water toys.
